Tussar (Tussore, Tussah, Tasah) Silk
A wild silk. Referred to in Sanskrit as Kosa (the ancient Kauseya). Three species of Antherea produce Tussar silk: Antherea Mylitta, Antherea Perniyi, and Antherea Royeli. The natural colour of the silk ranges from honey cream to off-white, depending on the leaves the silkworms feed on. It is sometimes called Raw Silk. See Wild Silks.
