Also Elaiche, Ilecha. A Mashru (Mashroo) fabric with a design of stripes with cartouches or dots representing “ilacha”, or cardamom, along the breadth of the fabric. It is the design that gave the name to the fabric. Also a handwoven silk from Agra and Surat traditionally of white stripes on a crimson pink background.2 It can also be of silk and cotton.
