A tapestry-like weave now limited to Aurangabad and Hyderabad. In Mughal times it was popular with the nobility, being woven in silk and zari and used for heavier tunics and coats. Then it became a combination of silk and cotton as noble patronage waned. Now it is woven by a few families in these cities, using cotton and art-silk combinations, for shawls, bedspreads and the like.
